Et Juda fit ce qui était mal... Il résulte de 2Chroniques 11.17 que Roboam et son peuple demeurèrent fidèles à l'Eternel pendant trois années. Le texte donne à penser que le mal partit du peuple plutôt que du roi.

Ils le provoquèrent à jalousie. La relation de Dieu avec son peuple est souvent présentée sous l'image de l'union conjugale.
