Joram en voulait-il à Elisée d'avoir conseillé une résistance qui amenait des conséquences si épouvantables, et promis faussement la délivrance ? Il avait attendu celle-ci comme fruit de la pénitence que prêchait Elisée, et maintenant, en ne la voyant pas venir, il se retournait contre lui. Dans tous les cas nous avons constaté déjà qu'il ne devait pas être animé de sentiments bienveillants à l'égard de ce prophète (3.11-14).
