Moab a sans doute vendu des vivres aux Israélites (2.29) ; mais il ne l'a fait que, dans un esprit mercantile, tandis qu'il aurait dû venir avec empressement au-devant des besoins d'un peuple frère. On ne peut donc lui en tenir compte. De plus, c'est lui qui a appelé Balaam.
