Je l'apaiserai, littéralement : je couvrirai sa face, expression technique dans la loi pour désigner l'expiation. Quand Esaü regardera vers Jacob, il verra non plus ses tromperies passées, mais son offrande.

Me fera bon accueil, littéralement : élèvera ma face. Un suppliant qui paraît devant un supérieur ne relève la tête que quand sa demande lui est accordée. Voir 4.7, note.
