Par cette révélation, Sion est devenue la montagne (moralement) la plus haute de toute la terre : dans l'image qu'emploie le prophète, les peuples voient de loin la maison de l'Eternel élevée au sommet de cette montagne, et ils se dirigent vers elle des lieux les plus divers. C'est le besoin de salut qui les amène, non par contrainte, mais librement. Comparez Jean 4.22. Remarquez qu'il n'est pas question ici de sacrifices, mais seulement de révélation et d'enseignement.

La fin du verset : Car de Sion sortira n'appartient plus au discours des peuples ; ces mots sont ajoutés par le prophète lui-même pour expliquer leur empressement.

La loi (thora) proprement : l'enseignement, la révélation de la volonté divine.
