Le lieu de mon repos. Cette idée d'un lieu de repos et d'établissement définitif, après des pérégrinations nombreuses, domine le psaume entier. David ne veut pas entrer dans le lieu de son propre, repos (versets 3 à 5), avant que l'Eternel ait une demeure. Et l'Eternel accepte cette demeure stable, pour bénir de là la maison et le peuple de David de bénédictions temporelles (verset 15) et spirituelles (verset 16), couronnées par la grande bénédiction messianique (versets 17 à 18).
