L'obéissance vaut mieux que le sacrifice et aimer Dieu et notre voisin est meilleur que toutes les vaines offrandes.

Nous sommes ici mis en garde de ne pas nous satisfaire de ces simples actes. Et soyons attentifs à cela dans toutes nos pratiques. Dieu désire le cœur ; que peuvent faire les inventions humaines pour satisfaire le plaisir divin, quand la repentance, la foi et la sainteté sont négligées ? Au jour de la détresse, nous devons nous adresser au Seigneur par la prière fervente. Nos problèmes, bien que nous les voyions comme envoyés par la main divine, doivent nous conduire à Lui et non pas nous éloigner de Lui. Nous devons Le percevoir dans toutes nos voies, dépendre de Sa sagesse, de Sa puissance et de Sa bonté, en nous confiant entièrement en Lui et en Lui rendant ainsi toute la gloire.

Nous devons rester en communion avec Dieu ; Le rencontrer par le moyen de la prière lors de l'épreuve comme au moment de la délivrance.

La supplication du croyant aura non seulement une réponse pleine de grâce, mais de plus, bénéficiera de la bénédiction de pouvoir s'adresser à son Dieu.
