Comme l'annonce le début de ce texte, le peuple de Dieu habitera bientôt en Sion, et il ne pleurera plus jamais. Même de nos jours, il bénéficierait d'un grand réconfort, en demeurant dans la sainteté, s'il était plus fidèle dans la prière.

Un manque de pain n'est pas aussi tragique qu'une carence de la Parole de Dieu.

Chacun commet des erreurs en tous domaines ; le « tentateur » s'affaire à nous détourner de notre piété par de nombreux moyens. Quelle joie de voir une personne se redresser spirituellement et quitter une mauvaise voie, suite aux conseils d'un serviteur de Dieu, d'un ami fidèle, d'un remord de conscience, ou d'une conviction reçue de l'Esprit de Dieu !

Les enfants d'Israël seront guéris de leur idolâtrie. Tout pécheur repentant finit par ressentir de l'aversion pour son iniquité. Cela se constate quotidiennement, lors de la conversion des âmes, par la puissance de la Grâce divine, dans la crainte et l'amour du Seigneur. Cette abondance de la Grâce, complétée par la Puissance du Saint-Esprit, est tout à fait capable de combler les indigents. L'effet résultant se manifeste par un grand réconfort et une joie qui anime les enfants de Dieu !

La « lumière », c'est-à-dire, la connaissance, augmentera. Cette lumière, c'est l'évangile répandu dans le monde entier, capable d'apaiser et de guérir le cœur contrit !
