Segond 21 Elisée dit à Guéhazi : « Dis-lui : ‘Tu t'es donné toute cette peine pour nous ! Que pouvons-nous faire pour toi ? Faut-il parler en ta faveur au roi ou au chef de l'armée ?’ » Elle répondit : « Je vis bien tranquillement au milieu de mon peuple. »

World English Bible He said to him, "Say now to her, 'Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?'" She answered, "I dwell among my own people."

A demander au roi. Le prophète avait rendu des services au roi et pouvait en rendre encore (3.16 ; 6.9). On avait donc des égards pour lui.

J'habite au milieu de mon peuple : tranquille dans ma maison, sans avoir rien à redouter de personne ; je n'ai aucune faveur à demander.
