World English Bible I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.

Au témoignage approbateur de Dieu, Moïse ajoute ici la promesse : Je leur susciterai..., qui n'est mentionnée ni dans l'Exode, ni dans le passage correspondant du Deutéronome, du fait de l'exaucement accordé par Dieu à la demande du peuple, dans le don de son propre ministère. Dieu étant toujours le même, il est naturel que Moïse voie dans cet exaucement la garantie d'un don semblable qui se répétera toutes les fois qu'il sera nécessaire au bien du peuple ; comparez la note relative à la parole divine citée 17.16.
