Job 14.13

13 à 22 S'il y avait après la mort une vie pendant laquelle on pût jouir de nouveau de la faveur divine, Job supporterait ses maux actuels. Mais c'est là un espoir trompeur.

Me fixer un terme... Je mourrais volontiers, si je savais que ce n'est que pour un temps, et qu'ensuite tu te souviendrais de moi. Dans la mort je serais à l'abri de la souffrance.
