1 à 3. Introduction.

Célébrez l'Eternel, car il est bon. Cette parole, déjà connue des anciens captifs (Psaumes 106.1), devient pour eux, après leur retour, le point de départ d'un nouveau cantique.

Le soin providentiel que Dieu accorde à ses enfants lors de la détresse, de l'exil ou de la dispersion. (Psaumes 107:1-9)
Lors de la captivité. (Psaumes 107:10-16)
Lors de la maladie. (Psaumes 107:17-22)
Lors du danger en mer. (Psaumes 107:23-32)
L'intervention de la main de Dieu doit être reconnue par Son peuple. (Psaumes 107:33-43)

Dans ces versets, il est fait référence à la délivrance d'Égypte, et peut-être également à celle de Babylone ; mais il faut aussi remarquer les circonstances réelles qui firent l'objet de l'exil du peuple.

Il est rarement possible de percevoir réellement les souffrances horribles supportées par les exilés lorsqu'ils sont en fuite, quand ils traversent les étendues de sable, quand ils sont exposés aux rayons brûlants du soleil. Ce texte décrit bien leur situation : étant sous l'emprise de Satan, ils ont été délivrés par le Seigneur ; celui qui vit dans ce monde dangereux, dans une triste insouciance, est souvent au bord de la chute, il vit dans une certaine crainte et se trouve exposé aux diverses tentations. Ceux qui aspirent à la droiture, qui recherchent Dieu et qui veulent être en communion avec Lui, seront comblés par les bontés de Sa maison, à la fois en grâce et en gloire.
