L'hypocrite proprement dit, auquel s'adresse maintenant le juge, se sert de la piété, non pour se tromper soi-même, mais pour tromper les autres. Et il est vraiment fréquent, pour ceux qui annoncent les statuts du Seigneur aux autres, de vivre eux-mêmes en toute désobéissance. Cette dérive naît de l'insulte à la tolérance de Dieu, au manquement déterminé de la communion avec Sa personne et du propos de l'évangile. Les iniquités des hommes seront, au grand jour du jugement, complètement révélées. Le jour approche où Dieu manifestera vraiment sa réaction et sa justice vis-à-vis des péchés : ceux de l'enfance, de l'adolescence comme de l'âge avancé ; ce sera une réaction à la fois terrifiante et pleine de honte.Que ceux qui oublient Dieu puissent abandonner leur méchanceté, leur négligence vis-à-vis du salut et qu'ils soient ainsi conscients du danger encouru. La patience du Seigneur est vraiment grande. C'est ce qui est d'ailleurs des plus merveilleux vis à vis du sort des pécheurs ; mais, s'ils ne se repentent pas, ils verront leur erreur et il sera alors trop tard.Ceux qui oublient Dieu s'oublient eux-mêmes ; il en sera ainsi tant que cet oubli persistera. Le but final de l'homme est de rendre gloire à Dieu : ceux qui Lui rendent gloire dans la prière, qui Le glorifient seront acceptés. Les iniquités des hommes seront, au grand jour du jugement, complètement révélées. Le jour approche où Dieu manifestera vraiment sa réaction et sa justice vis-à-vis des péchés : ceux de l'enfance, de l'adolescence comme de l'âge avancé ; ce sera une réaction à la fois terrifiante et pleine de honte.Que ceux qui oublient Dieu puissent abandonner leur méchanceté, leur négligence vis-à-vis du salut et qu'ils soient ainsi conscients du danger encouru. La patience du Seigneur est vraiment grande. C'est ce qui est d'ailleurs des plus merveilleux vis à vis du sort des pécheurs ; mais, s'ils ne se repentent pas, ils verront leur erreur et il sera alors trop tard.Ceux qui oublient Dieu s'oublient eux-mêmes ; il en sera ainsi tant que cet oubli persistera. Le formalisme est déjà une hypocrisie ; il est taxé comme tel par le Seigneur (Matthieu 23.23). Mais il peut être plus ou moins inconscient. L'hypocrite proprement dit, auquel s'adresse maintenant le juge, se sert de la piété, non pour se tromper soi-même, mais pour tromper les autres. Et il est vraiment fréquent, pour ceux qui annoncent les statuts du Seigneur aux autres, de vivre eux-mêmes en toute désobéissance. Cette dérive naît de l'insulte à la tolérance de Dieu, au manquement déterminé de la communion avec Sa personne et du propos de l'évangile. Les iniquités des hommes seront, au grand jour du jugement, complètement révélées. Le jour approche où Dieu manifestera vraiment sa réaction et sa justice vis-à-vis des péchés : ceux de l'enfance, de l'adolescence comme de l'âge avancé ; ce sera une réaction à la fois terrifiante et pleine de honte.Que ceux qui oublient Dieu puissent abandonner leur méchanceté, leur négligence vis-à-vis du salut et qu'ils soient ainsi conscients du danger encouru. La patience du Seigneur est vraiment grande. C'est ce qui est d'ailleurs des plus merveilleux vis à vis du sort des pécheurs ; mais, s'ils ne se repentent pas, ils verront leur erreur et il sera alors trop tard.Ceux qui oublient Dieu s'oublient eux-mêmes ; il en sera ainsi tant que cet oubli persistera. Le but final de l'homme est de rendre gloire à Dieu : ceux qui Lui rendent gloire dans la prière, qui Le glorifient seront acceptés.
